LIFI VP for Export Marketing, Ms. Donna Lao-Padre was selected by the Development Academy of the Philippines to join the other 19 women leaders, entrepreneurs and professors from 14 countries (Bangladesh, Thailand, Cambodia, Pakistan, Fiji, Indonesia, Vietnam, Iran, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, ROC and Philippines) in the Workshop for Women on Tools and Techniques for Improving Productivity Micro and Small Agrifood-Processing Business by the Asian Productivity Organization, implemented by the Malaysian Productivity Corporation. The 5-day workshop was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The said productivity workshop resulted to increase productivity of workers as Kaizen and 5S were introduced to the different LIFI teams. Eventually, LIFI will be teaching these productivity tools to its women beneficiaries as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibilities.
Recognizing the importance of gaining knowledge through new experiences by travelling, LIFI aims to expose its admin officers and staff to the world to help them discover new things and utilize those in their respective jobs and eventually increase their productivity.
LIFI is one of the few selected Filipino-owned Small-Medium Enterprises that have passed the requirements of CBI Ministry of Foreign Affairs, The Netherlands. Their project aims to promote family-owned Small-Medium Enterprise to the European market. LIFI was assisted by CBI in helping shape itself and be market-ready for EU.
Apart from series of export marketing preparations held in the Philippines, LIFI, through its Export Marketing Officer was able to witness SIAL Paris and had intensive export marketing training held in the same city.
LIFI's Vice-President in Exports Donna Lao-Padre and Plant Manager Amy O. Malon participates the Biofach 2016 last February 10-13 held in Messezentrum, Nuremberg, Germany. Thousands of organic products all over the world participated in the show. The event marks the LIFI's wide participation in organic farming events around the world.
